Our goal at the Low Carb Nexus® is to provide you with quality products, at a good price, in as timely and inexpensive a manner as possible, yet with a "personal" touch! Toward that goal, our Shipping Policies are as follows:
Most orders will ship either the same day, or the next business day after our receipt of your order. Please use the next business day time frame as a "rule of thumb" in your planning. In some cases, a shipment may be delayed slightly to allow for delivery of an out of stock item, or to avoid perishable items sitting in a shipping vendor's warehouse over the weekend and spoiling. Weather, or shipping vendor (UPS) outages can be a factor as well. For instance, bread or tortillas ordered on a Thursday or Friday should be held (not shipped) until Monday due to foods being held over the weekend in route and spoiling. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND that the stated shipping times are SHIPPER TRANSIT TIMES once your order leaves the Low Carb Nexus®, not the time from your order being placed!
DELIVERY METHOD
We will utilize UPS as our preferred shipping vendor. However, in certain situations the customer may be better served if we ship via US Priority Mail. Specific instances include shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and APO / FPO addresses, as well as International Orders. Other reasons for using US Priority Mail may include, but are not limited to, faster delivery time of perishable goods, Saturday delivery needed, International delivery, or over-sized packages.
If you prefer a specific delivery vendor (UPS or USPS) you may specify your choice in the "Comments and Alternate Address" field (text box) on the Low Carb Nexus® On-Line Shopping Cart's Shipping Screen. If your Shipping Vendor selection results in a higher shipping fee, then that additional fee will be passed on to you and your order total will be amended. If this occurs, you will receive an e-mail notifying you of the change.
You will be notified, when your order ships automatically, as to the date of the shipment and what the Tracking Number is... if you choose any of the UPS options on the Low Carb Nexus® On-Line Cart's Shipping Screen. This assumes that you gave a valid e-mail address, correctly formatted, in your On-Line Shopping Cart account set-up. E-mail notification can not be sent if your e-mail address was not given, or if it was a "partial" address, for instance, "phred" is not a complete address, "phred@aol.com" IS a complete address. Your e-mail will NEVER be used to send "spam" or sold to anyone. (See our Privacy Policy.)
If you choose USPS (Priority Mail) as your shipping vendor by notifying us of this request in the "Comments and Alternate Address" field on the Shipping Selection screen, you will not automatically receive a notification e-mail and Tracking number, HOWEVER, this information is available on the "Check Order" and "View Account" screens in the On-Line Shopping Cart System. Simply click on the "Shipped" link (per order) in your Cart Account screen to view this information. UPS Shipping and Tracking information is also available in this manner as well.
DELIVERY TIME
You will be able to select your speed of delivery from the Shipping Screen of the Low Carb Nexus® On-Line Shopping Cart. Faster delivery times are usually higher in cost than slower delivery times. However, we will always endeavor to keep the shipping cost as low as possible!
If your order contains perishable goods (bread, chocolates, or frozen products) we strongly recommend a Three Day (or faster) delivery time in order to guarantee the quality of your delivered product. This is especially important during warmer months (Spring through early Fall) or, when the shipping destination is in a warm climate. We will include FREE ice paks on chocolate and perishable orders during these warmer months. However, the time in transit is still critical and you should select accordingly! Please note that we CAN NOT guarantee product quality if you choose too slow a shipping time!
Note that the delivery time refers to time in transit, not the number of days until you receive your order. The time in transit begins from the ship date mentioned in your shipping notification. This will typically be one business day after receipt of your order. We will make every effort possible to ship the same day, but the next day timeframe should be used for planning purposes. As mentioned earlier, other delay factors may also be involved.
SHIPPING TIME OPTIONS
GROUND (1-6 day delivery transit time)
THREE DAY (Three day Ground delivery transit time)
AIR (2-3 day Air delivery transit time)
EXPRESS (1-2 day delivery transit time)
Use the UPS Delivery Zone Map (click HERE) to determine your Ground delivery transit time frame. East coast orders will normally be received in 1-2 days transit time via Ground. So even perishable items can be shipped this way if you are in one of these UPS Delivery Zones. Please note that selecting a time frame does not select a vendor. We will ship so that your order will arrive in the time frame that you select!
Shipping fees usually are cheaper in larger quantities (i.e. larger orders will be lower in shipping cost overall than smaller orders.)
P.O. BOX ADDRESSES
UPS, our preferred shipping vendor, does not ship to P.O. Boxes... if all you give us is your address as a P.O. Box, and then you select Ground UPS shipping, we will be unable to ship your order until we contact you and get permission to change either your address or your shipping method, and this may un-necessarily delay your order while we attempt to contact you. If you choose Three Day Select, we will ship it to your P.O. Box via Priority Mail. The BEST option is to be sure we have both a physical shipping address and a P.O. Box (if you use one.)
BACK ORDERS
We will make every attempt to avoid back orders. Should we be out of stock on an item that you have ordered, we will either contact you to determine if you wish to wait (have us hold your order) on the item, or notify you that we are shipping without the out of stock item, depending on how soon we expect the item to be back in stock. If we deduct the out of stock item from your order, the amount of that product WILL be deducted from your order total, and you will not receive it at a later date, unless you re-order.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
We DO ship internationally. At this point in time, we are still working with our On-Line Shopping Cart system vendor on International Shipping issues. At this time, our LCN On-Line Shopping Cart calculates
ONLY UPS Shipping Charges, which can be quite high for some countries. We do ship Air Mail Parcel Post in
almost all cases when we ship overseas. This can be VERY affordable. However, we would have to e-mail you
with a shipping quote once we know what you are ordering, and the weight of your package. In order to do this, you can either go ahead and use the LCN On-Line Shopping Cart, and just
IGNORE the shipping charges, with a note to e-mail you an Alternative Shipping Quote (in the Comments Field of the LCN On-Line Shopping Cart.) Or, you may prefer to use the Fax Order Form until this issue is resolved. You may then FAX your order to us Toll Free at: 1 (866) 2FAXLCN
(232-9526). We will e-mail you with a shipping quote.
Remember that shipping fees quoted by the LCN On-Line Shopping Cart system for international orders are maximum shipping fees. We will, quite probably, be able to ship your order for MUCH less! We will e-mail you with specific shipping fees, so be sure to include a valid email address!
One of the International shipping options is UPS Worldwide Express, which may allow us to ship perishable goods. Because it is a faster service, it does cost more. If you choose perishable goods, this will be the only method available for shipment.
Your country may impose its own tariffs as well.
APO / FPO SHIPPING
We DO ship to APO / FPO addresses via Priority Mail, however, at this time, our LCN On-Line Shopping Cart, which uses the UPS site to calculate shipping, does not directly support calculating shipping options for these addresses. Please contact us about a shipping quote on your order, or use our FAX Order Form to place your order. This is similar to the International Shipping information (Scroll
up to see "INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING" above.) You may also choose to
submit as your Shipping Address, a "regular" U.S. postal address, then "over
ride" this with the actual APO / FPO address in the Comments field on your
checkout sheet. In this way, you can "work-around" the current failing in
the cart.
MAIL, FAX, PHONE ORDERS
You may mail, fax, or phone-in an order. We will contact you with shipping fees, so please do not mail your check until you have the full amount. We will ship the order once we receive your check or money order.
PROBLEMS WITH YOUR ORDER
Please notify us of any problems with your delivery on the day it arrives.
If an order does not arrive on its due date, please contact us so that we may begin tracking procedures.
ORDERING FOR A FRIEND OR RELATIVE USING YOUR ACCOUNT
You may choose to order for a friend or relative by selecting items from the On-Line Shopping Cart after logging into your account in the Low Carb Nexus® On-Line Shopping Cart system. This is perfectly acceptable, and in fact, is one of the "personal touchs" we like to provide you as a service! We do ask that you enter the person's name and address (the person that you want the product shipped to) in the "Comments and Alternate Address" text box at the end of your order session at the same time as you choose your Shipping Options, but before you select the "Secure Checkout" button to finalize your order. Please note that editing the Shipping Address on that same screen edits YOUR account's shipping address address, and is NOT the same as requesting that your order be sent to a friend or relative! Any discrepancy in actual shipping cost will be made and an adjustment will be made in the final charge for the order that you placed for another person.
ORDER QUANTITIES WHEN SAMPLING A NEW PRODUCT
If you have not tried an item before, please only order one (1) of that item until you determine if you like it! This is especially recommended for protein bars and drinks, as tastes DO vary. While we only carry products that we would eat ourselves, there are some products that one of us here at the Nexus may like and that another does not! Please be sure which category you are in before ordering in larger quantities! <GRIN>
